In a dorm room of BITS Pilani, Anirudh Singla and Rishabh Shekhar started Pepper Content, writing and editing hundreds of articles themselves, in 2017-18. Pepper clocked $6,700 in revenue with a network of 25 creators and 20 customers and raised seed funding of $300K with 100+ customers and a network of 5,000+ creators. The team was six-member strong at that time. Now with 100+ members in the team and a whopping 1,20,000+ creator network, we are serving a global audience.

About the Role

As an Editor at Pepper, you will get the opportunity to work on a diverse range of written content from different industry domains and collaborate with a wide pool of content creators from the comfort of your home. Further, their creator-friendly policies and support system will allow you to sharpen your skills and work within an exciting and fulfilling ecosystem.

Job Description

  • Edit and proofread documents following the client’s guidelines to match the highest standards of quality.
  • Go through around 8k words of content, depending on allocation strategies, from a variety of domains and formats and ensure the content pieces have followed client briefs and are factually and technically correct.
  • Provide comprehensive feedback and suggestions to writers with a strong focus on timelines and quality.
  • Optimise content through SEO best practices and ensure content is plagiarism-free by running documents through premium plagiarism detection software.
  • Identify and flag articles that do not meet Pepper’s quality standards.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Have excellent command over the English language and eye for detail.
  • Have at least 3 years of experience in content editing and proofreading documents from a variety of industries and domains.
  • Have thorough knowledge of copy editing and proofreading best practices.
  • Have strong research and organisational skills.
  • Be able to take up challenging and time-sensitive editorial tasks and deliver these without compromising on quality.
